This is where the plain of Thessaly turns into an “ocean” of history. The history of Farkadona starts from the ancient times, just like the stream of River Pineios, determining the life of local people until now. It an endless farmland, which generously produces crops used as raw material in gastronomy. This area constitutes a folklore reference point, as well as a remarkable stop for travelers, who wish to explore, taste and live an authentic version of the Municipality of Trikala. In the small city of Farkadona, which is the seat of the homonymous Municipality, we can travel in time, seeing the paved square under the shady century-old plane trees or walking up to the old aqueduct, the clock situated on the top of the hill or until some scattered chapels that remain still.
