The products of the land of Trikala

What does the land of Trikala produce? Flavor of course! But flavor is always accompanied by its particular geography. Starting from the lowland areas, every season people uncomplainingly produce the raw materials, which also form the basis of local food tradition.

Grains, corn, peppers, tomatoes and vegetables offer their own color to the plain of Thessaly. Moving upwards, we see trees and aromatic herbs and plants that contribute to the formation of its gastronomic identity. Next, livestock farming blossoms everywhere, offering its own sense. From the mountain regions of Trikala and the steamed mountaintops until the lowest meadows, the livestock produced is joined with the history of local people, while dairy products, which are part of the identity of Trikala, are well-known worldwide.
