Among snowy mountains, spread around its wonderful river, Litheos, it will enchant you at the very first sight. Walk in the town center, at a complex of pedestrian streets that ends at Litheos river, take pictures at the Central Bridge, a jewel of architecture, built in 1888. If you are lucky enough to be found in a snow-covered landscape, then your heart is at a dead end… you are in love with Trikala forever.
From there, you can go everywhere to enjoy tastes, entertainment and warm hospitality. Small taverns at Manavika area, ouzeri (Ouzo places) where you will taste tsipouro of Trikala and superb small dishes of food, small honkytonks to listen to Rebetiko music, and bars and cafes in every corner…
No matter how much you get carried away by our intense life /lifestyle, don’t forget to stroll at the alleys of Varousi, the old town of Trikala, and to visit landmarks, such as the Byzantine Castle, where, besides a tour of the monument, you will get the chance to climb to the Clock. There you will enjoy a bird’s eye view of the town, and you will get the chance to know its history, through a special photography exhibition. Also, the Ottoman bath and Tsitsanis Museum, (don’t forget that Trikala is the birthplace of great artists and musicians), while the Mosque, located very close to the Museum, is one of the most imposing monuments.
